Production company
Blumhouse productions is an effective production company as it deduces all the main aspects of successful horror into one short clip. Blumhouse creates a sense of danger from the low lighting and also creates tension from the paranormal aspects of a moving chair and flying book. Blumhouse also uses a 180 degree shot of the whole scene which the tension as it puts the audience in the view of the camera man and the pan shot shows the horror of this room as a whole. Finally the disjointed music that plays creates a feeling of un-comfort as we cannot recognise where it comes form and the sudden silent ending puts the audience on edge as they expect a jump scare.

Ghost house pictures use a high angle shot to show how, at first, we are in control of the situation but build the suspense as the door slams from a paranormal source. This increases the tension as we feel vulnerable but when the camera angle moves to a neutral shot we through the key hole we are helpless. The ghost jumps out which is the final aspect of the company and creates a company 'mascot' as it is what we remember from the clip. Ghost house pictures is good as they begin the horror the audience will watch with a short jump scare and obvious indication of the genre they follow.
Ghost house pictures is famous for many blockbuster films including the infamous 'Drag me to hell' which has one of the best scores of horror on Metacritic.

Twisted pictures creates a great sense of horror due to the the dark setting which paints a picture of the horrors that will be on-screen. As well as this Twisted pictures develops a sense of danger due to the barbed wire that is entwined around the words making the audience feel on edge. This is then emphasised when the dagger being twisted making the barbed wire tight and therefore even more dangerous. I feel the sound effect really adds to the overall horror as it intensify's the shocking aspect of the genre.
Twisted pictures is best known for gore and torture films such as the 'SAW' franchise.

The element of suspense is created brilliantly by dark house pictures through their use of darkness on the shot as a whole. the element of darkness shows a basic horror aspect and is used to almost cliche its use. this also links to the use of a dark moon and the extreme long shot of the castle in the foreground which all create a classic horror image for the audience. This along with the storm effect, created by Shakespeare himself through the play 'The tempest' , shows the audience they should be excited for an unforgettable horror experience.
This was our first attempt at creating a production company logo and we tried to create an intense atmosphere by using a clip in reverse and the audio climbing into an intense sound to finish. we felt the use of black and white background would bring forwards our title for the audience while making the 'blood' red writing to the front as well. We felt having the focus around a mirror being broken also created a superstitious element to our work while building a sense of unrest in our audience for the film ahead. This was not the final logo we decided to use as we felt the background was lacking in definition and memorability. the black and white background was very grainy and we could do better.
This was our final choice for our horror production company as we felt it brought together all aspects of the broken mirror title while also highlighting to our audience that they are in for a fright. We felt that using a GIF instead of trying to create an overlay way more professional as it created a true horror image for our audience they would recognise the themes we are trying to portray of evil. We felt that using a black and white clip also created classic horror as it didn't set a specific time of day but created the idea of constant horror.
