GOOD PRELIM
The first task that we had to do was the preliminary one. In this task, we had to perform a two way conversation. In this conversation, we had to perform a series of different shots. The main rule that we learned was the 180 degree rule. This rule insists that when two people are having a conversation, the camera stays on the same side. If the camera person was to change sides, the audience would be confused because it would completely change the way that the conversation looks. When we conducted our first preliminary task, we didn't follow the 180 degree rule so the two way conversation was very confusing for the audience.
Continuity was another thing that we had to make sure we did correctly. When filming, a lot of shots are filmed. As a group, we needed to ensure that the shots were kept the same which meant that we needed to keep props the same, and in the same places - as well as people. In our preliminary task 1, there was a continuity error at the beginning when the first character that the audience is introduced to had her hand on the door, and in the second shot her hand moved to a different part of the door. Although this wasn't a really noticeable continuity roor, it is still something that the group improved in the second preliminary task.

BAD PRELIM
In the second preliminary task, the things that we wanted to achieve the most was mastering the 180 degree rule, and having no continuity errors. As a group, we conducted a two way conversation in a bigger room than the room that we filmed in, in the first preliminary task. Having a bigger room to film in had a greater impact on the scene. We also took other things into consideration such as lighting. In our first task, the lighting on camera was gloomy and had a somewhat orange tinge to it. Therefore, in task 2, we ensured that the lighting mirrored the mood of what was happening in the scene. During the two way conversation, the 180 degree was kept the same, and the conversation appeared realistic to the audience rather than confusing them. In the second preliminary task we also made sure that there were no continuity errors. this made the scene, and the two way conversation flow nicely rather than being jumpy and confusing to the audience.
