OUR SWEDE PROJECT
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4
INFORMATION ABOUT THE FILM - It has been five years since Katie (Katie Featherston) murdered her sister and disappeared with her infant nephew, Hunter, in tow. Now, a new family is about to fall prey to nighttime terrors. A mysterious accident next door leads to teenage Alex (Kathryn Newton) and her family becoming the temporary guardians of Robbie (Brady Allen), a very creepy neighbor boy. Cameras installed throughout Alex's home capture the sinister events that unfold after Robbie's arrival.
TRAILER
WHY DID WE CHOOSE TO DO PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4?
For our swede we decided to reenact Paranormal Activity 4. We decided that we wanted to do a paranormal trailer, so to create a swede that was based on a paranormal movie would work to our advantage. We felt as though the trailer had multiple camera shots, props, characters and lighting that we could create ourselves. The trailer had 5 main characters in, and in our group we had 5 people which meant that each person in our group would have the opportunity to participate in acting, as well as filming and editing. If we hadn't have chosen this trailer then not everyone would have been able to be in the swede task.
Paranormal Activity 4 also had a lot of footage filmed that was filmed with a handheld camera, or an actual handheld device that was used as a prop in the trailer - differently to a lot of movies. As a group we saw this as an opportunity to get experience using the handheld cameras as a lot of movies use conventional camera techniques rather than using handheld cameras which have become more popular in new, modern horror movies.
